Dzmitry Ulasiuk

Pianist Dzmitry Ulasiuk was raised in an environment of classical music in Minsk, Belarus. A winner or laureate of 17 international piano competitions, Dzmitry has performed world-wide, both solo recitals and with orchestras. For his Carnegie debut, a critic wrote, “There are times when a reviewer simply decides to put pencil and paper away and enjoy the music, and this was one of those times. Mr. Ulasiuk is an artist of depth and mastery, with unwavering conceptions which capture his listener…. Along with ample power and technique, Mr. Ulasiuk revealed sensitivity and soulfulness at all the right times…. His playing always had direction and dramatic shape…” (New York Concert Review).

With his first commercial CD of Prokofiev and Rachmaninoff released in 2019 (Centaur Records CRC 3698), Dzmitry received critical acclaim for his fresh interpretations, lyricism and musicality. “… Ulasiuk plays with enviable technique, beauty of tone, and an understanding of the music before him that penetrates to its core.” His playing “brims with rhythmic swagger…and lush, lyrical themes mesmerize… it is his style of interpretation that sets him apart.” (MusicWeb International) “Impeccable technique, virtuosity of a highest level… every single phrase was thought through – simply fantastic!” – Suncana Basic, of the Croatian newspaper Glas Slavonije. Dzmitry released a second CD of piano sonatas and mazurkas by Alexander Scriabin, also by Centaur Records. “Ulasiuk invests them [Mazurkas] with a combination of dazzling technique, fluid lyricism, and the poetic sensitivity that make his playing so compelling.” (Fanfare Magazine)
